Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients:

  • 4 –5 lbs beef brisket well-marbled
  • 2 tablespoons beef bouillon powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika smoked or sweet
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Cooking Liquid:

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 bay leaves

Optional Add-ins:

  • Carrots celery, and onions
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary

Instructions
 

Prepare the Brisket:

  • Pat the brisket dry and rub it evenly with the seasoning mix (beef bouillon powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt).

Sear the Brisket:

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the brisket for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Prepare the Cooking Liquid:

  • Mix beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar in a bowl. Add bay leaves.

Cook the Brisket:

  • Place the brisket in a roasting pan or slow cooker. Add the cooking liquid and optional vegetables.
  • Oven: Roast at 300°F (150°C) for 3–4 hours.
  • Slow Cooker: Cook on low for 8–10 hours or high for 5–6 hours.

Rest the Brisket:

  • Remove the brisket from the pan and let it rest for 15–20 minutes.

Slice and Serve:

  • Slice against the grain and serve with the pan juices.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, add a teaspoon of liquid smoke to the seasoning.
  • Store leftover brisket in an airtight container with some cooking juices to maintain moisture.
